I miss learning

tl;dr

I miss when I had to spend dozens of hours learning.

Sometimes when I'm in the deep flowstate of four parallel Claude Code agents running in Git Worktrees, I sit back and I think, "what the hell is wrong with me." You see, I've always been the type of person to go above and beyond to learn things that weren't required of me. I did my HTML & CSS assignments in React to impress my teacher. I learned Figma for graphic design to make custom assets for school projects.

Sometimes I think, what happened to the old me? What happened to the me who was excited to go to class and learn new things?

Honestly, if there's anything to blame, it's the rise of AI.

I know that's a pretty boring take considering my immense use of this technology, but that use has both hurt me and helped me. Gone are the days when getting learning resources meant pulling out textbooks. Currently, the best teacher is AI. If it knows how you like to learn, it can teach you subjects incredibly fast. It's massively accelerated my learning and has allowed me to learn complex topics, typically taught in multiple semesters, in days.
